The preceding is a concept video of what the Google smartwatch will look like. It is said that the wearable tech will be based on the Google Now technology and while it remains a rumor, the chances of getting this product realized is pretty huge.

I think google will be more inspired to try and make a decent smartwatch since president obama has been mentioning them a lot in his speeches.

Why are concepts ALWAYS so much better than the actual product?! I doesn't mean those concepts that are clearly too futuristic and impossible but concepts like this for example. Why don't manufacturers try to figure out how to make concepts a reality, when they know that people love them?!

Uhhhh that would be nice to have.
I think round screen watch is not the best approach for a smart watch. And by only using the voice command as User Interface to interact with the device is not the best way to interact with the device. Of course it shows great demos, but it's just impractical and it cannot provide the best experience to the user. All in all, it's not about what if Google or any other companies made a smart watch, which ever company made a smart watch they have to make it in a form of a new platform, a form factor and could provide a new and better experience to the user. Otherwise smart watch is just a secondary device that users use for a short period of time instead of taking their smartphone out. This kind of smart watch would become rather useless or unnecessary. Thus, there would be no market for this kind of device because it's not a must have device. All in all, in order to make a smart watch, they have to provide a better or even greater User Experience to the user to make it worth trying. There is a difference between great demo and a great experience that enhance/improve user's day to day life activity.
